Supercharge Hair Restoration with Exosomes for Best Results

An Incredible Breakthrough In Treating Hair Loss

Trillium Clinic Med Spa is pleased to be offering Exosome therapy for hair loss. We believe this new therapy may provide much better results in treating hair loss based on our patient’s results.

Early results appear to be better than PRP.  Mesenchymal Stem Cell-derived exosomes are one of the many exciting new developments in regenerative medicine. In hair restoration, we have historically injected PRP to stimulate hair growth.  PRP/PRF results depend on the concentration of growth factors in the patient’s blood and can be negatively affected by age.  If you have more severe hair thinning/loss or a receding hairline, then treatment with exosomes may get better results.

Hair loss can have a tremendous effect on self-esteem and self-confidence. Many people face hair loss seasonally, some face it as a reaction or side effect to any drug or high-level treatment, while others simply have genetic issues linked to their excessive loss of hair. Whatever the cause is, this is a problem that is depressing and worrisome enough to give you sleepless nights in return.

At Trillium Clinic Med Spa in Chapel Hill we provide Exosome Hair Restoration Therapy to reverse hair loss. This novel technology applies the principles of regenerative medicine to restore hair, stopping hair loss, and promoting hair growth.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The procedure involves using microneedling to induce micro-traumas to the scalp-follicle complex, followed by the application of exosomes, for the purpose of rejuvenated, thicker, and healthier hair.

There is a natural decline in stem cells, collagen, nerve cells, and blood vessels leading to weaker, thinner tissue, that subsequently results in hair loss.

Microneedling of the scalp leads to micro-injuries in the scalp and its underlying tissue layers. This results in causing the body’s own natural healing mechanisms to stimulate the release of growth factors that will likely lead to improvement in thicker and healthier hair. This mechanism is enhanced by the application of exosomes

Exosomes are micro-vesicles, about 1/1000th the size of a normal cell. Exosomes contain no DNA or nucleus. They are signaling agents used in cell-to-cell communication and signaling. Exosomes are known to activate several signaling pathways that are important in tissue regeneration, wound healing, and fracture repair. This effect is called paracrine signaling. Exosomes are used for therapeutic reasons and are a new therapy in Regenerative Medicine.

Applied post-procedure, Exosomes goes beyond PRP by leveraging RNA, growth factors, and its natural mechanism of action to activate cellular repair.

  • Greater variety of Growth Factors: 450 in Exosomes vs 12 in PRP
  • Growth Factors, mRNA and miRNA appear to be associated with the regeneration of skin and hair
  • Exosomes are not donor age and/or health status dependent
  • No blood draw or time-consuming on-site processing
  • Anti-Inflammatory Properties
  • 1-2 Treatments vs 3-6 Treatments

By stimulating the body’s own natural healing response and then adding additional growth factors through exosomes, results in an increase in cell
metabolism & penetration, angiogenesis (new blood vessel growth), and anti‐inflammatory effects, increased blood and lymph microcirculation, the
release of growth factors, collagen cells, elastin fibers, stem cells (body’s raw materials), and lipolysis (breakdown of fats). Basically, a slew of self‐regenerating processes occur, ultimately leading to a more heightened form of hair restoration.

There is generally minimal downtime associated with Exosome Microneedling. Some potential side effects include bruising, soreness, headache, or temporary swelling of the scalp and forehead. Exosomes are attracted to inflammation so any of these issues subside quickly. Everything will be back to normal within 48hrs.

While the number of treatments may vary depending on individual factors, an initial series of 3 treatments (spaced every 6 weeks) is usually recommended, followed by maintenance injections every six months. Patients usually notice results within two to three months. It is important to be consistent with your hair care and avoid exposure to environmental toxins, such as excessive sun exposure, tobacco, etc. The treatment works best if the hair loss occurred within the last 5 years.

Microneedling with exosomes is a hair restoration treatment that combines the use of exosomes therapy with microneedling, a technique that uses tiny needles to create micro-injuries in the scalp to stimulate hair growth. Exosomes are extracellular vesicles that contain growth factors and other signaling molecules that can help promote hair growth and improve hair health.

Good candidates for exosomes typically include individuals experiencing hair thinning or mild to moderate hair loss. Those who have noticed a decrease in hair volume, a receding hairline, or overall hair thinning may benefit from this treatment. On the other hand, individuals with severe or extensive hair loss may not be ideal candidates for exosome hair therapy alone.

During a microneedling with exosomes treatment for hair, the scalp is first cleansed and prepared with a topical anesthetic. A handheld microneedling device is then used to create tiny punctures in the scalp, which allows for deeper penetration of the exosomes into the hair follicles. The exosomes are then applied topically to the scalp and massaged into the hair follicles to promote hair growth and improve hair health. This treatment is typically performed in a series of sessions for optimal results, with each session lasting around 30 minutes.

The response varies. In general, it is recommended to wait 3-6 months in between sessions to see the full potential result.

Exosomes have amazing regenerative capabilities that can be harnessed to fight visible signs of aging and restore hair loss. Applying exosomes and growth factors into the scalp has been clinically proven to regenerate and regrow hair as a treatment for hair loss. This treatment is suitable for targeting early-stage male and female hair loss. Because exosomes form follicular stem cells, they facilitate hair growth and can help prevent hair loss

There may be some mild discomfort during the treatment, but there is typically no downtime associated with this treatment, and patients can return to their normal activities immediately after the treatment.

For optimal treatment results, a maintenance treatment every 6 months is the best.

You should not take aspirin, Aleve, Advil, Motrin or any prescription anti-inflammatory medication for one week prior to treatment since these medications reduce inflammation which may lessen your results. Cigarette smoking at any time will also diminish results. Following treatment you should not apply keratin hair fibers to your scalp or color or cut your hair for three days.
