Why SkinVive Is Important

As you age, your skin loses hyaluronic acid and overall smoothness. HA (hyaluronic acid) hydrates the skin, improving its smoothness so the skin glows. SkinVive is a modified form of HA that helps the skin retain it's natural moisture, which improves skin smoothness and fine lines of cheeks.

What is SkinVive?

1. SkinVive is the first of its kind! Distinguished as a "skin booster," it's hyaluronic acid that's injected as microdroplets below the surface of the skin that focuses on skin hydration rather than volume repletion. SkinVive is a modified form of HA (hyaluronic acid) that helps the skin retain its natural moisture, which improves skin smoothness and fine lines of cheeks.
2. Unlike dermal fillers like Juvederm or Restylane, which are used for specific facial contouring like plumping lips or defining cheekbones, SkinVive takes a different approach. SkinVive, taps into the moisture-attracting qualities of hyaluronic acid to boost skin hydration and enhance texture. SkinVive is all about enhancing your skin's radiance without changing what makes your face uniquely yours.

• What does SkinVive do?

  • SkinVive increases hydration and cheek smoothness leading to glowing, refreshed, and radiant skin for 6 months.

• Does getting SkinVive hurt?

  • SkinVive injections can involve mild discomfort, so we apply topical numbing for 15-30 minutes prior to the procedure. The treatment itself lasts 15-20 minutes and involves full cheek superficial injections.

• How soon will I see results?

  • SkinVive results can be seen as soon as 1 week, and peak at one month.

• What should I expect following treatment?

  • After the treatment, you may experience injection site redness, swelling, lumps/bumps, pinpoint bruising, tenderness, discoloration and itching that may last for the 24-48 hours. You'll begin to observe desirable results at 1-2 weeks, with the peak effect typically occurring around one month, and these results last six months.

• Is there downtime?

  • In terms of downtime, most individuals can resume their daily routines immediately after the treatment, following some simple aftercare instructions provided by our professionals. It’s important to note that you want to minimize exercise for the first 24 hours to reduce the risk of further swelling or bruising. It is also recommended to avoid makeup for the first 12 hours.

• How long does SkinVive last?

  • SkinVive results last 6 months.

Pre-Treatment Care

• Schedule your appointment at least two weeks before any major event, trip or photoshoot
• For 3 days prior to your appointment: avoid alcohol, NSAIDs (ibuprofen, advil, aleve)
• For 3 days prior: you may take Arnica tablets to reduce the risk of bruising
• Within two weeks: avoid scheduling an appointment for SkinVive within two weeks of a dental procedure, antibiotic therapy or a new vaccine
• Let your treatment provider know if you have a history of cold sores
• Recommended to eat a snack before your appointment

Please feel free to come just as you are (i.e. right from work with a full face of makeup, straight after a workout, or just after waking up). We will prep the skin as part of this procedure.

Post-Treatment Care

• For 12 hours: keep the area of treatment clean: try to limit touching, massaging or wearing makeup
• For 12 hours: be mindful of the bacteria you might be introducing to post treatment areas - think hands and phone
• For 1 day: avoid exercise
• For up to 7 days: Feel free to take Arnica supplement to encourage the resolution of bruising (follow the package insert for dosing)
• Feel free to supplement with fresh pineapple [or bromelain enzyme supplement] to encourage the resolution of bruising
• For 2 weeks after your appointment: do not schedule dental procedures
• Contact our office immediately if you experience any consistent, unrelenting redness, acute pain or change in skin color after your SkinVive procedure
